Cargill today reported $766 million in earnings from continuing operations in the fiscal 2012 third quarter ended Feb. 29, 2012, essentially even with $763 million earned in the same period a year ago.

Cargill today reported $100 million in earnings from continuing operations in the fiscal 2012 second quarter ended Nov. 30, 2011, an 88 percent decrease from $832 million in the same period a year ago.

Cargill has completed the acquisition of Provimi, a global animal nutrition company for an enterprise value of Euro 1.5 billion ($2.1 billion US). (July 5, 2011) The completion ceremony for the “Cargill Water-Saving Irrigation Program – Xinjiang Project ”, which is jointly operated by Cargill and the Chinese State Council 's Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, was today held in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region's Wensu County, which is part of Aksu Prefecture. Leaders from the State Council, the Xinjiang Poverty Alleviation Office, the local government, as well as representatives from Cargill, attended the ceremony.
